About Your Instructor
David Mandry
Hi, I’m David, and I’m honored to be the Instructor at Kumon of Riverview-Boyette, proudly serving families in Riverview, Lithia, Boyette, Gibsonton, and East Tampa.
Before opening our center in 2015, I spent many years working as a satellite test engineer, software test engineer, and quality control engineer. In each of those roles, I relied heavily on mathematics, statistics, and problem-solving to ensure the reliability of complex systems. That same focus on precision and consistency is what I now bring to the classroom, helping students build strong academic foundations step by step.
My journey with Kumon began as a parent. I first enrolled my son at age 10, and later my two younger daughters. The difference I saw in their progress was remarkable. Unlike traditional tutoring, which only addressed short-term struggles, Kumon went deeper, helping them develop confidence, independence, and long-term success. Experiencing that transformation firsthand inspired me to dedicate myself to bringing the same opportunity to other families in our community.
Every child who walks through our doors has untapped potential, and it’s my mission to help uncover it. From our youngest Pre-K students to our high school learners, I strive to motivate, encourage, and guide each one so they leave our center not only stronger in math and reading, but also more confident in themselves.
